Forgotten treasures, are not a thing of the past! Very much in the present for me, so I expect for you as well!
If the horror be known, I’ve been having a little check and chuck, in my spare room/studio. Perhaps you know that figurative room? It might be a closet, drawer, desk, dining room table, under the bed, your basement, or even the garage (or all of the above)! The place of shame where you would like to create, but cannot, because of all the clutter.
Would that I could, de-clutter in just one day! However out of the dust, often arise the forgotten treasures! Perhaps half-finished projects, experiments in creativity, family mementos, or even those had-to-have purchases, still sitting in their original bags (even some from BeadFX). Oh dear! Did I do that? Why did I do that? What am I going to do about it? How much did I spend? What was I going to make? Would it really take more than a few minutes, to finish it/them off? Shudder!
A day of cleaning and decluttering, becomes another life-lesson in distraction! Plans for donating and re-gifting, though admirable, are stalled as you paw through remnants of your past. What’s a girl to do? First, admit that it cannot all be done in one day! Next, re-adjust your plans, and carry on without even a tiny bit of guilt!
Does anyone want to see more of my forgotten treasures? Perhaps some might not seem exciting to you, but remember that I love them all the same (well, perhaps some a bit more).
I am a magpie! A collector of techniques and curiosities, with a true love of re-cycling! I cannot abandon my forgotten treasures, but then again, I cannot keep them all. So then gifting, thrifting, and re-gifting I will go! It’s a long-term commitment, and will certainly involve more than a few tears. However it’s something that has to be done, so wish me luck!
