A study in contrasts …

This week – we are all about the contrast. I’ve been watching a lot of Bob Ross videos lately (The Joy of Painting series on PBS in the 80’s and 90’s – if you haven’t watched them – don’t let what you’ve heard put you off.) Anyway – one of the things he says repeatedly is that you have to have the dark to show the light. Or vice versa. The point is, that you need contrast to emphasis your design, your image, your story. Creativity is about contrasts. (Good article here about creative people and how they sometimes make no sense.)

And – this update is about as contrasting as it gets … on the one hand, we have Matte Silver Crazy Lace Agate, which is shades of white and grey, with a soft, un-shiny, matte finish, is just about as subtle and understated as it gets around here.

And on the other hand – we have another new batch of Swarovski in the fabulous new colour Scarlet,

and new beads in the Shimmer finish. A scintillating dance of colour and transparency with sizzling multi-colour reflectivity that would make a hummingbird weep with envy. Talk about your contrast! And don’t you think some of that Scarlet paired with the Matte Silver Crazy Lace would look awesome?

Contrasts. Felt embellished with glass beads? Recycled vintage and new beads? Wood and Sterling? How will you contrast today?

As always – you can view all interesting new stuff on the website here.

Happy beading!
