First off – I know that leather is not everybody’s “thing.” I know that some of you are so not comfortable with leather. That’s ok. But I have to say, if I had to name my top five favourite scents in the world – the smell of leather is going to be on that list. Frying bacon, fresh cut grass, wild roses, warm horses, lavendar, and lilac would also be duking it out for top spots on the list.
And this is that kind of leather – 1 meter strips of super-intensely coloured, sueded-on-the-back, buttery-soft, luxurious leather lacing. In a rainbow of colours. I mean, just look at that turquoise, and the green, and the red … oh my. And if that makes me a relic of the stone age – well – so be it.
On the other hand, if stones rock your socks, when we have some seldom-seen stones for you to peruse.
For instance – when is the last time you saw stone beads this small? Daaaaw – Aren’t they adorable?
Or when is the last time you saw a strand of Morganite? Like, the 5th of never.
Or Kunzite rondelles?
Nuggets of Apatite. Ok, I just find the name Apatite confusing. Do you have an appetite for Apatite? Do you have Apatite Nuggets? No, but I have an appetite for nuggets – chicken that is. (Quick google break – apatite comes from the Greek word ‘apatao’ – meaning to ‘deceive’ – because it was frequently mistaken for other stones. Now you know.)
Oh, and Lava – because you’ve been clamoring – yes, clamoring I say – for Lava.
And, of course, Labradorite, because we can’t keep good old Canadian home-grown Labradorite in stock.
Our selection of stones is, in fact, stunning. From African Turquoise to Wood Opalite, we love stones and carry lots of them. You know, so we can stroke them and fondle them and whoops – now this email isn’t going to make it through the spam filters!
So while it may seem primitive – there is nothing like good old leather and rocks when it comes to make jewelry. Now you’ll have to excuse me – I think I hear a banana calling my name … .
Please note: Canada Day. The store will be closed both the Sunday and the Monday, July 1 and 2, for the observance of Canada Day, including all the heat, bugs and humidity you can stand. 😉
