Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer!

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘dog days of summer’, but did you know it has nothing to do with our canine friends? The phrase actually refers to the position of Sirius (the dog star) in the summer sky. The star is at its highest between mid-July to late-August which coincides with the hottest and most humid temperatures. In any case, keep your dogs well watered!

Our mid-August classes feature a wide range of jewellery making techniques and BeadFX is a great place to cool off from the summer heat! Pamela Kearns is teaching how to do bead mosaic in the style of the Huichol people of Mexico. If you’ve never tried metal clay, then Jenn Jevons‘ class is for you – learn how to create your own fine silver components! Anne Marie Desaulniers has two classes including a brand new freeform stitching and beading class! Wireworkers will love Lucie Lee‘s new cat-inspired ring. Boris Kolodny will teach you how to create your own flat-backed cabochons from rough slabs – perfect for your own designs.
