Happy Monday

No, really – today is truly a happy Monday for me at least. Our emergency renovations (long, nasty story that involves children and water) are finally complete. The contractor is just doing some finishing little touches, and I’m working on getting my house and studio back in order. It’s been almost 2 months since I’ve been able to get into the studio! One of the little projects that I’ve been working on while the contractor was doing his thing, was to stain and paint a very old Ikea drawer unit. The unfinished top and sides have been stained, and each …

Beaded Curtains – Back in Style!

When you picture beaded curtains, I’ll bet you’re thinking of those 1970 era hippy type curtains – while some of them were extraordinarily beautiful, these are quite a bit more modern. Liven up your space, and release your inner hippy!                                                                            Source: papercitymag.com viaSharon on Pinterest                                       …

Digital freebie!

Happy Monday! (yeah, ok) It’s Monday, and I think a little freebie is in order. I’ve been playing around with Photoshop and the Gimp creating backgrounds and textures to use in my mixed media and resin jewelry.  It’s been a fun little diversion that I’m happy to share with you. Print them out, cut them up, layer them with other images – these can be used however you wish.  Each file is print quality at 300 dpi, and scrapbook paper sized at 12×12 inches! I’ve posted them up on flickr for easy downloading (printables set). Be sure to download the …

A treasure trove of free ebooks

I’ll admit – I’m a late comer to the world of eBooks  I love new tech toys, and when I can afford it – I’m the first to jump on the chance to play with a new toy.  An e reader disturbed me though – I love my books, and the feel of holding the book, turning the pages is part of the appeal – how could I possibly snuggle up with a good book, and not be holding an actual book? That was me a year ago – I now have over 1000 books (no exaggeration) loaded on my tablet. I can take …

Beaded Laughter

Happy Monday – well, hopefully is for you. Thanks to the kidlets, I’m down with something – bad.  As my brain is completely non-functional today, I thought i’d share a repost from a while back. Beaded laughter features among others, …

Be My Valentine

I’ve spent this uber awful icy/rainy morning with a few cups of coffee, and pinterest. It’s Monday – I refuse to go outside, and I needed some inspiration on what to make the girls for Valentines day presents. I’ve created a board – Be My Valentine. I hope it inspires you! This week, I thought I’d share a project that Dwyn made a while back. (last year or the year before that) You may remember Brave Heart – this was one of the projects that she created for Swarovski in Tucson. For this year, at Tucson, we were very pleased …
