Charm & Grace

Metal Charms & a week’s Grace on “free shipping at $50” There is something very romantic about the idea of a traditional charm bracelet – a chain bracelet crammed full of charms to commemorate all the major milestones in life. A gift, perhaps at sweet sixteen, and then religiously adding to it for every special event, birthdays, anniversaries, trips, goals. Very romantic, and a wonderful conversation piece. A treasured collection of memories for reciting to grandchildren as they cuddle in your lap. Buuuuuut – tastes change and so do the meanings of words. A “charm” is a metal (mostly) item …

Somebody Pinch me!

Well – actually – don’t please. Pinch these beads instead. These are pinch beads – happy little glass beads that are pinched into a sort of triangle shape in profile. We have some new “old stock” beads And if that doesn’t make you as happy as a clam, then maybe these clam/scallop/sea shell beads will. or something in a nuggety random beach pebble kind of shape? Oh, and hey – remember these? They’re baaaaack! Now in packs of 5 or 10, you can make multiple pendants or design something over the top! As always – there is interesting new stuff …

The principle difference, however, is that the GemDuos do not rise to a point on the top like the DiamondDuos, they have a flatter top. There is an excellent review of them here, showing the same patterns made …

What did the Groundhog See?

Why – he saw a lovely selection of glass beads and flowers! “Oh Yum,” thought the Groundhog – “I should have Czech’ed these out earlier. There was no need to hibernate – I could have spent the winter beading!” And we do have a lovely selection of new Czech glass Flowers and Leaves. Whether you are stringing (the flowers make awesome bead caps, btw, especially in earrings!), doing some beadweaving and need a cool accent, or making a knotted bracelet featuring lots of …
