Are the Stars Out Tonight

In my case, the "dear" is probably the crystals. I have been loving these Bermuda Blue Starfish for some time - and trying to find some project to use them in. I kept having vision of some enormously complicated net-thing with the starfish woven in, but in the end - went with something simple.

Sometimes they flip over and you see the foiled back - which is a metallic hematite colour - but it doesn't look  bad and just adds some variety to the piece.

I had some problem with the jumprings not wanting to go through the holes, not so much because they were too fat for the holes, but because the curve of the jumprings was wrong to go through that long, straight hole. I would up using smaller jumprings to hang the starfish, and bigger ones to make the chain that hangs them from the bail, but you could make your life less complicated and use the smaller jumprings for all the links.

The number of jumprings, from left to right are:

Any chain that fits through the bail would work too - I just used what I had on hand.

While the lobster claw clasp will happily hook into this chain, I chose to add a jumpring at the end, as the jumpring is larger than the hole on the bail, and prevents the whole bail/pendant assembly from falling off the chain, if you accidentally let go of one end, say while putting it on or handing it to a friend to admire.

This necklace is 20 inches long, and can be worn shorter, due to the large links of the chain. Feel free to make longer or shorter as you prefer.
