Porcelain Jasper, is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful jaspers out there. It's not a flashy, in-your-face jasper, and for that reason, you might be surprised that I like it that much. At a glance, you might pass over it as a mix of greys and browns. But what I see is a subtle blend of mauves and purples, with greys and pinks and browns - and pretty much all the colours of cloud-filled sky at sunset - not one of those flaming red skies you see once in a while, but more like the quiet beauty that you can see nearly every day, if only you look for it.

To me - these colours evoke the rustle of silk, quiet and dim parlors filled with books and by-gone days of gentle elegance and perhaps more than a little naivete.

This necklace uses a stone mount in a way that you might find surprising. Instead of mounting a rhinestone in it, it has a bead - a rectangular tablet bead that happens to fit the finding perfectly.

Add your glue to the stone mount - I like a two part epoxy - and fill it about 3/4 of the way up - enough that it will contact the stone bead, but not so much that adding the bead will cause the glue to ooze up over the edges. (You could test the level you need with some water first - I, of course, just guessed.) If you do get some ooze - remember that you can clean up UNCURED epoxy glue with simple, household vinegar.

Then crimp your strands onto the corners of the filigree stone mount, string your beads, and add a clasp and crimp.
