Do you remember scuffing through the leaves as a kid? Wasn't that just last week? Do you remember the way the air smelled, crisp and funky at the same time. Smoke from someone's fire, wet leaves, one last lawn mowing. And looking for the perfect leaf! Most special was those lacy skeleton leaves, when all the leaf had rotted away - leaving just the veins, a delicate tracery of the leaves internal skeleton!

Celebrate all things autumn with this lacy leaf combo! Headpins filled with beads make a ladder of the chain, turning a simple pair of strands into a broad collar design.

Earrings
 Thread an eyepin with 6 seedbeads, and attach a leaf to the bottom.

Necklace

1.   Cut two lengths of chain, not the same length. 71 cm and 62 cm is what I used. Attach the large leaf to the middle of the long one, and attach the middle of the long to the middle of the shorter one with an eyepin with 12 seedbeads on it.
   
2. The next eyepins have 10 seedbeads, and are 20 links over on the long (bottom) chain, and 15 links on the shorter (top) chain.
   
3. Next eyepin is 8 seedbeads and the same number of links
4. Carry on - subtracting 2 seedbeads for each successive eyepin and the same number of links.
   
5. The final eyepin is only 2 seedbeads, and is 15 links top and bottom.
   
6. Attach the ends of the chains with a jump ring, and add the clasp and extender.
   

 The chains tend to try and tangle in each other and the eyepins after it is completed, so it is best to store this one hanging in one of those tall jewelry boxes, or, failing that, from a pin on the wall. ;-)
