Ornaments and Jewellery. Well – jewellery is just ornaments for your body, and ornaments are just jewellery for your tree. Or your home or whatever you choose to adorn. Or ornament – as the case may be. I have a select few beaded ornaments hanging from the ceiling in my office – all season long. Out of context of a tree – they aren’t particularly Christmassy, but they are definitely ornamental!
Swarovski has a new colour – Scarlet – which, if you are a fan of red, you will love. And if you are a stickler for correct usage of the English language – you’re probably going to have to grit your teeth and just love it for the colour. Scarlet, as defined, is an orangey-red, and this Scarlet – this Swarovski Scarlet – is a beautiful, in-your-face, true, deep red – without a hint of orange. We have it in AB and the new Shimmer finish as well. A Swarovski bead by any other name would sparkle as well.
In fact, we have the bicones in the Shimmer effect in other colours as well. Shimmer, you may, or may not, remember, was introduced last year to be a variation on AB – a slightly lighter version – for creating more depth of effect in costumes (dance, skating, etc.) in the rhinestone line. It was not clear if they were going to make it available in the beads until this latest release. Now, we have not only Shimmer, but Shimmer 2 – which is a double coating. They are pretty darn awesome.
The Eyes Have it!
If eyes creep you out – you might want to stop scrolling now. But if not – then how about these way cool new Evil Eye fancy rhinestones from Swarovski? They are somewhat startling, and very dramatic in Traditional Blue, Green-eyed envy, and Dominant Brown.
Oh, and we have special pendant and link findings coming for them, but of course, they did not arrive at the same time as the eyes – because that would just make sense, wouldn’t it. Doh. Hopefully – they will show up soon.
Come and join the fun in classes with Betty Stephan. If you are in Toronto – no airfare, no hotels – nothing to do but show up and have fun and make something fabulous! Listen, you can pay more if you want, but wouldn’t you rather spend it on beads? Register online.
