My October 2017 bead mat update, is really a poem to my eclectic tastes! I could tell you that I specialize in one thing or another, but that would be a lie!
I love all things creative! Sometimes I just need a taste, to satisfy my craving, but I certainly couldn’t focus on everything. It would be pretty boring, if I only did what was expected! Wouldn’t it?
To start off my October 2017 bead mat update, I want to announce that I’ve finished the beading on my little purple minx doll. Hooray!!! That’s really just a working title, but I haven’t found another one that fits her yet. She’s a beaded art doll, mixed media doll, goddess doll, spirit doll, or whatever else you want to call her! She started off strong, but came to a grinding halt, when other projects pushed to the forefront. The beading is finished, but the project is not, as I’m currently trying to decide on display options. I’m leaning towards a fibre pod or cocoon. Perhaps even a flower! But then again, a hollowed-out piece of driftwood, could be interesting! Back on the shelf she goes!
Item number two, for the October 2017 bead mat update, are the Japanese Chainmaille Fidget Balls, that I made in a class with Gillian Clarke. Not something I would normally do, but they’re really quite fun! I completed one in the class, and the other two on the weekend. Just enough to juggle, if only I knew how!
Thanks to Pam’s enabling, I took a Painting with Fibre (tapestry weaving) class, with Indie Boho Studio (#indiebohostudio). You know that fibre is my first love, don’t you? I may have found a new addiction! Wouldn’t you know that I gave away tons of yarn, earlier this year! Luckily, our fearless leader Marg, had some to spare, so I’m off to a good start! Thanks Marg!
The weaving on my little piece is complete, but the finishing is not! I want to add beads, and that rats nest at the back, really needs attending to. If only I could remember where I put the big eye needle!!! I have two separate ideas for adding beads, but have no idea which one I will choose!! A dilemma, but a good one!!
I couldn’t finish off my October, 2017 bead mat update, without something, not even remotely near the bead mat! This time, a walk in Edwards Gardens! The colour reflections in the river, the flowers, butterflies, and shadows, are always amazing!!
Do something different! Get out of your comfort zone! Go for a walk! Take a class! Have some fun!
