I know that Snowmaggedon in Toronto (Tuesday), seems tame to places like Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Montreal! But, where ever you are, when it snows all day, mixed with wind, ice pellets, possible freezing rain, then rain, it’s a real mess!

There’s too much traffic on the streets for proper snow removal, and not everyone who has a license, knows how to actually drive!!! When you pile ice, on top of snow, on top of older snow, you just get a real mess! I’m glad that I wasn’t scheduled to work on Tuesday, but the troopers at BeadFX did make it in. However, the store closed early, to allow the staff to get home safely.

So, I thought that this would be a perfect time to hi-light snowy beading and other stuff? It’s not something that I’ve ever researched, and not really snowmaggedon related, but what the hay?
I’ve never made a pure white beaded piece, yet if I was to represent the chillier side of things, I would probably choose to mix the white with an icy type of blue! Angela, one of my students in my last Freeform Peyote bracelet class (not on the schedule), chose this mix, but I’m sorry that I don’t have a photo to show. Anyway, I talked to Ms. Google, to asked for a selection of winter themed snowmaggedon jewelery, and this is what she came up with!!! Not my photos!

“Twinchie” 2” x 2” !

The start of another Stitch Meditation, made on the current snowmaggedon day! Seven inches wide, by who knows how long? Each SM piece will be worked separately, then attached to the base of re-cycled, coffee-dyed sheeting. Colour will be injected, as needed!!!

Stitched/beaded!

Polymer clay!

Simply white!

2008/2009 Bead Journal Project!

It could be worse! Check out two of my photos from the 2013 ice storm!

Stay safe, dry, and warm!
