A little Swarovski love is what we need, now that the season is turning. Who turned the switch, and where did summer go?
It seems earlier than normal, but fall is certainly sneaking up on us! But is there anything that we can do to hold back the season? Unfortunately, not, but we can always warm up our creativity, by adding a little sparkle back into our lives. I blame the child in us, for our attraction to sparkle.
Swarovski love, is certainly not for the faint of heart, but it does give you something to think about. Is sparkle just for special occasions? If so, then why does it catch your eye as soon as you enter a store? What’s so special about it? Colour, and clarity for sure, but then there’s glitz and glamour. Are you attracted to it? Would you dare to wear during the day? Does it pair well with blue jeans? The answer is a resounding yes!!
Start with something simple, then ramp up to all out sparkle!
I admit it! I hoard my Swarovski’s!! They tempt me, I buy them, but rarely with a plan in mind. I design “Inspirations” for BeadFX, but never wear the samples. I’ve made earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, then given them away to my more sparkly relatives. Do I view myself as a sparkle wearing person? Certainly not, but why not? Perhaps I should be!!
I find that Swarovski’s pair nicely, with Quick Cure Clay, but I’ve just started exploring their potential.
I’d like to do something spectacular with my 27 mm Fancy Rhinestones (the round ones), but what to do, what to do…Intuitive bead embroidery for sure, but how can I work them into my organic process? There is definitely more thinking to be done, yet I’m tempted to start experimenting. I’d need to build up the background, with some type of cushion, or setting, before integrating them with the surface. An interesting problem! Would felted wool, be the solution? Or, how about several layers of Lacy’s Stiff Stuff? Only time will tell!
Make a point to embrace the sparkly diva in you, with a little Swarovski love! Challenge yourself, and I promise that you won’t be disappointed!
