All about blue, but what’s not to like? Every year Pantone announces its colour of the year, yet this is the lucky year they chose Classic Blue!
.“A timeless and enduring blue hue, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is elegant in its simplicity. Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of the thought-provoking PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue highlight our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.
Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge. Aiding concentration and bringing laser like clarity, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue re-centers our thoughts. A reflective blue tone, Classic Blue fosters resilience.” – quote taken directly from the Pantone website.
I do not always like the colours that they select, but in this case, I love it! It’s always been my favourite colour, yet there’s not always a good selection to choose from. They will be showcased in decorating, clothing, and even the jewelry we’ll be wearing, so I’m over the moon! Think of Lapis Lazuli, denim jeans, velvet, and those fabulous suede shoes, that Elvis sang about!
Here’s their Spring/Summer 2020 Palette!
Here’s something new that I’m working on, but I’m not sure what it wants to be when it grows up!
Some of my oldies, but goodies! But do you think this illustrates my addiction to this colour?
Believe it or not, this post is not all about blue! Here’s a fabulous sequin bracelet that a friend brought me back from the V&A Museum in London, England. Isn’t it wonderful? A simple netted bracelet, yet it’s very heavily embellished with sequins, then it has those lovely ball seedbead closures. It makes an elegant, yet drool-worthy bracelet.
If you feel the need to embellish with sequins, then BeadFX has an interesting selection for you to choose from. No, not like the V&A ones, but effective just the same. But one more thing! We’ve moved them, to make it easier for you to find, so here they are! Stack them, if you wish, then use for bead weaving, bead, hand, or tambour embroidery, or even as very thin spacers.
I’m not really in a blue mood, because my arm/elbow is healing nicely, yet I still can’t put weight on it, do a lot of stitching, or lift anything that’s very heavy. But it is getting stronger every day, so that’s good!
All about blue makes me very happy, but I must admit to going off the rails a little, when I chose to also hi-light my new sequin bracelet. You might not be as blue crazy as I am, but if not, which colours do you want to focus on in 2020? There’s no need to be a slave to the trend masters, but if you really feel you must, then this classic colour is surely the way to go!
