Colour play is where it’s at, and I’m not just saying this!! It’s something I truly believe in. But, if it’s just not your thing, I’ll attempt to convince you with my photos.
My creativity is making a slow return, thanks to the Making Zen Online Retreat. I’m making progress on this colourful needle book. I feel that it’s important to ramp up the colour, now that we’ve reached a darker time of the year.
Colourful cotton batiks, with a touch of Sari silk, makes for a brighter day!
Fibrella is the Queen of Fibreland, but she’s also a very colourful minx. I’ve been using her as my on-line Avatar for years, mainly because my friends told me that she is my alter-ego. She was made too many years ago to count, yet is still my one, and only soft sculpture doll.
This series of triangles (plus six more), was my first foray into visual journalling with beads, but certainly not my last. Many thanks to Robin Atkins’ Bead Journal Project, for a ton of sparkly fun, combined with stress relief, and a much lighter pocket book. LOL!
The multi-coloured beads at BeadFX illustrate that colour play is where it’s at! However, we were missing Bubblegum beads (trendy, according to one of our customers), and I’m happy to say that Dwyn added them to a recent update.
I loved the small crackle beads, but had to dream up a project. Inspiration struck, but I neglected to buy a necessary component, so I’ll leave you with a photo of just a few of the beads. Guess what I’m going to make with them? If it works out, I’ll post it as an “Inspiration”.
These Chrysoprase strands struck my fancy, then I remembered some large, luscious green nuggets (also Chrysoprase) languishing in my stash. A new necklace, perhaps?
Balls (orbs), bowls, and a stone!
How about a colourful photo of some flowers, just because we won’t be seeing these for a while. Sigh!
Colour play is where it’s at, and colour + play is what drives me to create! What drives you to create, and wouldn’t it be nice if we all the time in the world to play?
