I’m singing the collect the collections blues! Why, do you ask? I have a habit of making art in series, and when I’m finished, I end up with a collection. Those collections build up, and require both storage solutions, and space.
This wouldn’t be a problem, if I actively sold my work! However, I do not do that, so end up with a collection, of collections.
That wouldn’t bother me, if I had the space to store everything! I do gift some to relatives, and friends, but I still need to do something else with them. Other than fondling them, from time to time. Sigh!
Don’t get me wrong! I love my collections, and I have no plans to ever stop working in series. I just like to moan about storage dilemmas, because they are the bane of my existence!
While still singing the collect the collections blues, I will share some of my favourites with you.
Beaded buttons – just a small collection so far! They’re class samples, so do have a purpose. I think that I will eventually decorate the front of my jean jacket with them.

Embellished Orbs – another class, but they have also become quite the obsession outside of class. There are a few partially beaded ones in the bowl, but my two, bead encrusted ones are on display at BeadFX. Drop by and visit them one day!

These orbs are approximately tennis ball size. BeadFX does sell a larger wool ball, that could be the start of your own stellar collection.
Embellished beach stones – who knows why I started working on these? I do love them, but haven’t worked on any lately. So, I might need to start working on another one soon. Ahem! I have a goodly collection of bare rocks, so I don’t even need to go to the beach to search for one.

Another, larger stone!

From Stitch Meditations, comes 100-2”x2” Twinchies; 100-4” x 4” squares; and a bunch of stitched, and embellished #1 shipping tags.

I have more Stitch Meditation, Bead Journal Project, 100 Day Project, and other collections, but I’ll save those for another post. I even have a collection of rusty bits, but I’m not even tempted to show you those!
Fabric scraps from a friend, turned into another embellished orb! I’m considering adding either beads, or French knots, or both. It definitely needs more tarting up! Don’t tell anyone, but I have another one in the works as well.

Not in a collection, but what do you think of these little angel earrings, that I whipped up on the weekend? Special, yes?

I’m no longer singing the collect the collection blues, but have no idea how to stop myself. So, I won’t! Besides, my muse can be a royal pain! Do you work in series, and if so, what do you do with them?
