Virtual-Flat Cellini Carrier Bead Bracelet (2 sessions)

How about a new slant on using Carrier beads? In this virtual class with Pamela Kearns, you’ll learn how to do Flat Cellini with peyote stitch, and then use it to create beautiful beaded beads. You’ll then use traditional crimping techniques or stretchy cord to create a bracelet.

Session 1: Tuesday, May 3, 2022 You’ll learn how to do flat cellini strips and transfer strips to carrier beads.

Session 2: Tuesday, May 17, 2022 You’ll join the beads together, with additional decorative beads, to create a bracelet.

Type of class: Virtual. A few days prior to the class you will be sent an email containing the class instructions and the electronic link to the Zoom class. Once these instructions have been sent, refunds and cancellations will not be permitted.

Skill level: Beginner/ Intermediate

Prerequisite: Knowledge of flat even-count peyote will be beneficial

Technique: Peyote: Flat Cellini

Have for class:

  • Acrylic carrier beads (glass beads are a different size and will not work in this project)
  • Seed beads in the following sizes:
  • Size 11/0 Delica beads
  • Two colours of size 11/0 seed beads
  • Two colours of 8 beads of size 8/0 seed beads (designated Colour C)
  • 6lb Fireline
  • Beading needle of choice to fit beads.
  • Hypo-G glue
  • Additional beads, such as 6mm fire-polish beads, size 6/0 seed beads, or spacers, to extend the beadwork

If creating a crimped bracelet:

  • Medium weight beading wire
  • 2mm crimp beads
  • Wire guardians
  • Crimp covers, if desired
  • 2-strand ring tube clasp

If creating a stretchy bracelet:

  • Medium weight stretch cord (Opelon is strongly recommended)
  • 6mm crimp cover

Although a seed beader at heart, Pam has been branching out into new techniques and combining the best of all worlds into her creations. She had her first project published in the May/June 2013 issue of Beadwork. Pam taught at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Bead and Button Shows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A problem solver, Pam thoroughly enjoys teaching and inspiring students to think beyond basic techniques encouraging students to stamp their own vision on projects. To ensure that all students can accomplish the techniques, Pam (also a 'southpaw) includes 'Lefty-Alerts' within her class instructions.
