Part Seven – the final installment! We come to the close of featuring this enchanting bead quilt that Marg got at the charity auction at Bead and Button. The squares are made and donated by beaders from all over the world. The quilt is entitled “Glorious Green” and the theme: Birds. I’ve been  showing this to you one row at a time – up close and personal – so you can enjoy the handiwork in each square. (You might have to stand back into order to “see” the image.) It’s been fun looking at all of these in such detail. …

I continue to be fascinated by these Swarovski sample flags. They are so beautifully made – all hand-done, stitched and layered and appliqued. They are made with beautiful fabrics, silks and velvets and leathers, and have buttons and toggles and snaps and ribbons and hidden pockets. Sort of like those educational toys for children where they can learn to do up buttons and tie bows. But much more wonderful.  😉 They also have the spirit of the scrumble – the random joyfulness of sheer, chaotic pleasure. I showed you some awhile back – here are the rest from the Swarovski …

A little eye candy

I haven’t done this in a while – so lets put aside the chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chickies and sugar eggs and feast a while on some eye candy! First up – Christies is having another auction of exceptional jewelry items – but this time they belong to someone who was the very opposite of famous – a wealthy recluse who guarded her privacy with the determination of a Rottweiler. These are the most fabulous of Ms. Huguette M. Clark’s jewels – stored in a bank vault and unseen since the 1940’s. Amongst the offerings are a 44.09 carat “perfect” diamond …

Well – you can rent your rocks, just like the movie stars. And some stunners they have! Remember – Tourmaline is the October birthstone – slip this little baby on your finger for a week for a the equivalent of a measly $390 Cdn. Oh, plus the traveling to the UK costs. Apparently – you can rent anything there. 😉 Check out the bracelets too …
