This and That 2020 – and that’s how the story begins!

This and that 2020, is definitely how the story begins! What else could you expect? I have not been particularly creative this week, because I was rushing to get some parcels in the mail (all that wrapping is tiring). I made my deadline, so now I get to sit back and relax. Not really, because I still need to work on my in-town gifts, but at least I have a couple more weeks (I work fast!). Toronto, retail is shut down now (don’t get me started on the exceptions, which I’m personally boycotting), so Christmas shopping is a totally new …

What Sparks Joy?

What sparks joy when you really give yourself a chance to feel it? Is it a colour, that first spring flower, or the feel of the sun on your face? How about a new tube of seedbeads, then the look, but not the scent of lilacs (I’m allergic)? I’d vote for all of those things, but also a brand-new pair of scissors, a sharp pencil, the feel of soft rain on my face, and forget-me-knot blue. With Stitch Meditations, it’s all about the stitch, and any embellishment will always take a back seat. However, with Bead Meditations, it’s a little bit of fabric, and stitch, but beads add the wow factor. You use a needle, and thread, for both of them. …

Play is Good: But beading is even better!

Play is good, especially when you’re teaching a group of very enthusiastic students! I love teaching, but that’s not all, I also love my enthusiastic students!! It’s no secret, that my interests are quite varied, but this month seems to be covering it all. I taught my Needle felted Landscape Pendant class on the 29th, but then I turned around and taught a Resin class the very next day! After working all week, I should be exhausted, but strangely enough, I’m not! When you gather together a group of students, you never really know what to expect, but I must …
