Bloom into Lazy Daze!

Bloom into lazy daze is going to be my motto for this month. No particular reason, but I do like flowers, so I might show you a few more during the month of June. With Covid and all, I decided to buy flowers for my balcony, the first time in a couple of years. I figure that if I’m going be spending quality time out there, I might as well have something pretty to look at. Nothing fancy, just a couple of pots of deep pink (or are they magenta?) geraniums, plus a mixed basket. I even added ivy to …

Working in a Series: One heck of a challege!

Working in a series, is certainly one heck of a challenge! However, it’s something that I both welcome, and enjoy! I’m very selective about the outside challenges that I accept, because I do need to keep my focus on the end result. With the #the100dayproject, it was easy, because the goal was 100 pieces of something. Not hard, because I set the parameters. I need to tell you that I was definitely slowing down at the end. I wanted each piece to be unique, but sometimes all I wanted to do was splash paint on paper. It was quick, effective, …

Rocking with the Beads!

Rocking with the beads means that I’m captivated by my latest project. But, I’m even plotting another one, because we all know that I have a fickle muse! I wonder what I will get up to next? My killer orb! I love it, but the dark blue absorbs all the light, and the project is quite obsessive. If the weather is nice on the weekend, I will take an outside shot! My third focal section, and I’m already planning the fourth! I love everything about intuitive bead embroidery. Does it show? My bankbook, and BeadFX knows this, because this is …

Just Do Something!

If just do something isn’t enough of a clue, then I don’t know what the heck I will do with you! It’s time to keep safe, and hunker down, while remembering to explore your creativity. I predict that there will be an awful lot of handmade gifts this year, and a quick visit to BeadFX, will help you to explore your options, yet still add that spark, to stir you to action. Of course, if you’ve been reading my blog posts, you will definitely figure out that I don’t just bead! I call myself a mixed-up media artist, because I’m …

Woodn’t it be Lovely?

Woodn’t it be lovely, to be able to apply a multitude of beading, and mixed media techniques, to a beautiful piece of wood? Plus, I’m using a renewable supply, so that’s an added bonus! I’ve been making Natural Art Brushes this week, out of driftwood, and fallen branches. I am fascinated by Leslie Rottner Art’s brushes! I spotted them on Instagram, a while back, and have been waiting for her to develop a workshop, When she did, I signed up! Now I see them everywhere I look! Is it synchronicity? Do all artist’s share the same mind? It’s definitely a …

Random Thoughts and Activities!

Random thoughts and activities are the story of my life! My wild and crazy notions, call for immediate attention! The second in my Paper Stitch Meditation series. I use my version of the Momigami technique, then embellish with simple hand embroidery stitches. My random thoughts and activities, then led me back to wooden beads. This week, I decorated them with Neurographic Line Drawings (NLD). Last week was decoupage! The NLD was a little challenging, as the pen wanted to slide a bit, and my hand wasn’t quite steady. Early morning would have been better, but I decided to start them …
