Huichol Style Bead Mosaic

General In-Studio Class we outline Course outline: The Huichol People of Mexico used beads embedded in wax to portray images in ceremonial art. Join Pamela Kearns to learn how to use this ancient, yet easy, technique to create jewellery. Students will learn how to apply the wax to a laser-cut wood shape and apply beads to create a design. The wood shape can be used as a pendant. Students will also learn how to seal the beading. Enthusiastic students may start a pendant using a purchased shallow bezel during class. Spring Has Sprung

Zig Zag Peyote Bracelet-Two Sessions

General Virtual Class web outline: Course outline: Join Pamela Kearns for an intermediate peyote class. Let’s create a bracelet that zig zags around your wrist! Using diagonal peyote, we’ll create a colourful bracelet – that doesn’t go in a straight line. Project of the Week: Going Batty!

Welcome to a new BeadFX feature! In addition to the inspirations, we are presenting a complete project – with instructions and fully illustrated! Some of the projects will be brand new, based on new or existing products; others will be re-vamped inspirations featuring up-to-date products and options. Our first-ever project is: Going Batty Pin This fun pin, designed by Pamela Kearns exclusively for BeadFX, features our new bat component. Stay Connected with a Class

What kind of a December person are you? Do enjoy hikes and outdoor adventures in the fresh air? Are you more of a homebody curled up on the sofa with a good book? I prefer to stay indoors but I need to keep my hands busy so jewellery-making is a great activity. I also recognize the need to get out of the apartment and ‘meet the world’.
