These earrings feature the traditional festive Sea Urchin which has long been … wait – what do you mean? You’ve never heard of the Festive Sea Urchin? The glorious sea urchin that rises like a shining star from the waters of the pacific and brings holiday treats to all the good little children? Really? That’s sad – you’ve led an deprived life.
Anyway – even if you don’t believe in the Sea Urchin – these lovely, lovely stones are actually a variation on the rivoli, and will fit in any of the rivoli settings. These locking hoops don’t put too much metal around the stone to distract, and keep the earrings light!
To install the stone into the hoop, just push it in and wiggle it until the edge is seated into the channel. Then gentle squeeze the ring closed at the top, just at the bottom of the loop. (I use dull wire cutters for a nice, fine edge to squeeze with. Don’t squeeze too hard, you don’t want to cut the loop off).
After that, hang them directly, add a few links for more swing and sway, or accent with a crystal bead.
Drop dead gorgeous!
