June 2019 Bead Mat Update: Blue, with a dash of red!

Time for my June 2019 Bead Mat Update! I haven’t actually been doing a lot of beading, but I have a suspicion, that’s about to change!!

I need to do some beading, but then there’s also Stitch Meditations, Ice Resin, and that giant package of Quick Cure Clay. What’s a girl to do?

I’m not ready to expose my Quick Cure Clay to my blog readers yet, but it should be ready for a July unveiling. All I can say right now, is that it’s interesting to work with, is sticky, smells a bit, yet takes colour really well. It is fascinating, and the “cure on demand” reaction is amazing! I am working on a class, but it’s not ready yet!

I’ll be teaching my Freeform Peyote Bracelet class again in July, but I wanted to show you the progress on one of my pieces. It started as a bracelet, but definitely wants be a necklace Now I need to buy more blue beads!!

Speaking of bracelets, it’s time for me to finish these! I might even make a class out of them, if anyone is interested. Beading, and stitching is in the plan, to prove that they do belong in my June 2019 bead mat update!

I bought some luscious blue pearls, but have no idea what I’m going to do with them!! Sound familiar?

Blue bead – a teaching sample, from my last Freeform Peyote Bead class! I’ll either add some fringe, or a few dangles, to make it a stand alone pendant. Does it look like I’m on a blue run?

Now for the red! For my Bead Journal Project this year, I’m planning on beading twelve wooden spools! As I only started my first one in May, my BJP year will extend until 2020. For July, I decided to go with a larger spool, then used up some bead soup, from an earlier project. As tempting as blue would be, I needed those beads for the necklace, so I decided to go with red!!! It started with bead embroidery, but quickly changed into both bead embroidery, and freeform peyote. It needed a little black, so I added that, and although it’s not quite finished, I am happy with the progress. I should be able to finish it up by this weekend!

The label on the other end is red! I forgot all about it, and the green label ended up on the top.  Sigh! Matchy, matchy is definitely overrated!

I didn’t give you a link for the BJP this month, because I’ve changed the group to “Secret” for the next couple of weeks. We’re getting a run of Spammers, and I’m trying to break the chain, by making the group invisible to the nasty ones!

As you can see, my June 2019 bead mat update is quite happy to be blue. But it’s also happy to be red! Which colours should I focus on next?
